Red Lodge KOA Cabins

Hi...

Has anyone stayed at the Red Lodge KOA cabins?

On the KOA website I can see a picture of the outside but that%26#39;s

it...I have no idea if there is bedding etc etc

Would love to hear from someone who has stayed here.

Thanks!

Red Lodge KOA Cabins

I have never stayed in a KOA kabin before, but we are planning to this summer. My understanding is that none of the kabins have bedding. Some of the kabins with kitchens have cookware. We are bringing lightweight sleeping bags with us.

The pictures I saw of the cabins in Red Lodge look great but is it just a room with a wooden floor once you get inside?

Guess I should call the campground. I was just wondering if anyone had stay here before.

Thanks for the information!

Hi islandbound,

the Red Lodge KOA website says that you must bring your own bedding. For what they charge for a cabin without beds, I%26#39;d look into the lodging in town. It may be worth it. I booked a room in July in a

3 diamond AAA facility for just $20 more than KOA is asking..and it has many more amenities, including kitchen facilities. On the other hand, you may enjoy the rustic nature.

Good luck!

Check out the main KOA website, they have pictures and floor plans. There are beds, just no linens.

There are 3 different kinds cabins: cabins, cottages and lodges. Each with different amenities.

We have never stayed at a KOA before, but I have read good things about them. I stumbled across one when I was trying to find a place to stay near Hardin Mt when we go to Little Bighorn and the Crow Pow Wow. The pool is a plus for our family.

Thanks I will check that out...just really wanted to know what I was getting into not staying but a short time and also to be prepared if indeed we want to do this.

Also yes my first plan was to just get a hotel room since it would just be over night ....I think it was going to be around $125 for the night before taxes...the reason I started rethinking my plan is that it seems to be hard to fly in at a decent hour from Fl.

and we still need to stop and pick up supplies etc and thought if this was a good stop we could just add an extra night and be at a more slow pace....but then again every night I add tends to add more money for car etc etc...

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Yes, We have stayed there many times. Great campground, the cabins are nice, however we have not stayed in them.

This is an old post, but I have stayed in a KOA cabin so I will add my experience.

I stayed at the one in Missoula and in Bozeman at Bozeman Hot Springs (don%26#39;t think that exists any more) but I think they are fairly standard.

They are small and rustic, with mattresses. By bedding, they mean bring your own sleeping bags and pillows, or sheets and blankets if you prefer.

It is definitely cabin accomomdations, more like a youth camp style of mattress on a board.

I have stayed at many yurts and cabins in the state parks of WA and OR and would say they are a step above the Kampin Kabins, mainly because KOA charges an awful lot. I saw some mention of yurts and cabins on the Montana Parks website but it is worth finding out where they might be.

Unless you%26#39;re really in love with the idea of the KOA, a discount hotel may be a better choice. That is the conclusion I came to after staying there.
