Driving Times/Distances

I%26#39;ll be staying at one of Apgar cabins my first night in Glacier in the end of June, if GTTS is open, what would you recommend taking to Many Glacier? How long are both ways in time? How far is East Glacier from Many Glacier. We are planning on taking GTTS on the way back.....

How long is the trip:

Many Glacier to St. Mary

Many Glacier to Waterton

Thanks!

Driving Times/Distances

I would take GTTSR in both directions, I think you get a different view each way. It will take about 2 hours to get from west to east without stops and not counting construction delays. Delays are usually 15-30 minutes. If you get there at just the right time, you might not be stopped. If you go south of the park on 2, it is also in the 2-3 hour range. Many Glacier to St. Mary is 30-40 minutes. Many Glacier to Waterton is about an hour. East Glacier to Many Glacier will be 1 to 1 1/2 hours. When you drive the GTTSR allow time to stop, it is not the type of road that you want to use just to get from point A to point B. There are many viewpoints and trails along the way.

Driving Times/Distances

many glacier to St. Mary, 12 miles from MG to Babb, then another 8 miles to St. M.

Not sure of the miles to Waterton, but as I recall it is always an hour drive w/o stops

GTTS from west glacier to St. M. is 52 miles, but as mentioned previously, not to be rushed. Easrly starts beet the traffic as most people are slow to move in glacier (get on the road by 9 am)
